A step by step guide to dealing with Squalor & Hoarding

ACCOMMODATION SERVICES

Depending on the severity of the situation occupants of a home that is squalid or cluttered may require a period of time in either a respite or emergency accommodation facility whilst their home environment is assessed and cleaned. The cost of these facilities will vary and can become quite expensive. This will need to be taken into consideration when choosing a temporary accommodation venue. There are also instances when people living in situations of squalor and hoarding are no longer able to remain in their homes, these facilities can be utilised whilst more appropriate and permanent accommodation is sort.

Catholic Community Services operates hoarding and squalor services in several regions across NSW. Currently the information we have collected to assist in addressing situations of hoarding or squalor relates to the areas we operate in. We apologize if your region is not yet covered by this information.
